LEGO Marvel Sanctum Sanctorum Modular MOC Exterior (2022 version)

January 8, 2022 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 3 minutes

This is an upgrade to my custom LEGO MOC which was based on the excellent LEGO Sanctum Sanctorum (76108) set. I loved my original version of this moc, but the extra floor and size make such a huge – literally – difference to what I could do. Watch the video for a tour of this upgraded LEGO MOC. In the next video, I’ll be showing you the interior.

========

About this LEGO Toy Video:
The Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown set was a set I got for Father’s Day a year ago and I’ve waited to build this MOC for so long. I’ve been itching to do it but really wanted to wait until I was confident I could get it just right! I think I did a good job.

This MOC is actually based off of two of the LEGO Sanctum Sanctorum (76108) sets combined with the smaller 76060 set which features some interesting play features which I’ve incorporated throughout this MOC.

The details include a Grand Staircase, Angled corner, interior furniture, a bathroom (important for the minifigures!), and lots more!

This is a quick tour of the MOC and I’ll be doing a full review/breakdown soon!

Let me know what you think in the comments.

LEGO Brick Link Haul & Minifigure – Oct 2021

November 2, 2021 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 2 minutes

It’s been a while since I shared a Bricklink haul and thought I’d get back into the habit. This one originally started to supplement the parts that LEGO didn’t have in the Bricks & Pieces store when I ordered from them. But then the store had a sale and some very, very nice parts. I’m such a sucker for LEGO bricks!

07:48 Do you have any tips for those considering a LEGO Ideas submission?
09:12 Shameless plug of your LEGO Ideas project
09:46 Thanks for joining me!

========

About this LEGO Ideas project and Stargate:
Stargate was a science-fiction phenomenon, launched in 1994 with a summer blockbuster movie, and followed in 1997 with the long-running TV series Stargate SG-1. Spin-off shows Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe built on the extensive mythology, along with a couple of TV movies, animated series, and web series.

To mark the forthcoming 25th anniversary of the start of the first TV show, I’ve created this minifig-scaled display piece, composed of the Stargate itself, along with the famous gangway located in the secret complex inside Cheyenne Mountain…

Included with this set are six minifgures representing Colonel Jack O’Neill, Captain Samantha Carter, Teal’c, and Dr Daniel Jackson. The other two are Jaffa warriors, holding brick-built staff weapons. six minifigs for 850 pieces, that’s a ratio of 142:1 which is much higher than the LEGO Ideas Tron Legacy set which stood at 77:1 (3 figs for 230 parts) – this is definitely not a minifig-only submission 🙂

LEGO City Train Double Decker Passenger Carriage MOC (60197)

October 10, 2021 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 2 minutes

I’ve worked on the LEGO City Passenger train 60197 from 2019 a few times, but I’ve always wanted to add a double-decker carriage to it. In this video, I’ll show my take on the design. I confess, this is my 3rd attempt at doing this and I’ve got the parts I like to do it. I even built my own carriage chassis as I didn’t like the look and size of LEGO’s moulded pieces

LEGO Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown Review (76239) – 2021 set

October 7, 2021 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Hats off to LEGO for creating a batmobile set that is tough, fun to play with and looks like something batman himself would have been proud of! There’s a lot of speed champions techniques – and parts in the build. But is it any good! Hell yeah! Watch on to hear my thoughts.

About this Video:
LEGO DC Batman Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown (76239) puts high-octane, super-hero style and action into kids’ hands.

The ultimate, armoured crime-fighting machine
The Tumbler Batmobile from the Dark Knight trilogy of Batman movies is one of the most iconic, battle-ready vehicles in cinema history. It has an opening roof, which provides access to the driver and passenger seats and control panel. There are 2 stud shooters fitted to the front of the vehicle. There’s even somewhere to store the Batarang™. 2 minifigures are included: Batman, with a Batarang, grappling gun and alternative ‘nightmare’ head; and the Scarecrow, with a stud shooter and toxic fear gas canister. When the battle action is over for the day, the Tumbler Batmobile looks awesome on display in kids’ rooms.
