When it comes to products I love, it makes me very happy when I find out the team behind it loves it as much as me. This is the designer video for the new LEGO Ideas Voltron set 21311. Voltron is a set which I confess I never thought would make it into reality. So happy it did!
In the video, the LEGO Designers go through the original LEGO Ideas Voltron – Defender Of The Universe. That set already looked great, but the team at LEGO has made some great improvements.
Overall, the set is brimming with outstanding design decisions, even down to the decision to make the face brick built – something I though lacking from the recent Statue of Liberty set.
You can build the set as being the 5 lions or combine them into Voltron. But, what is so good is that the whole thing transforms and combines into the large robot. To achieve that, some outstanding and innovative techniques have been used. The designers really wanted to stay pure to the original design idea and the cartoon version this is based on. What has resulted is one of the most unique and fun LEGO Models inspired by another property yet!
